Bourbon is good, but a Raspberry Smash is better! Make this low-carb version of the popular drink and sip it all summer long!

What’s a Low-Carb Raspberry Smash
If you’re trying to be a bourbon girly but you were born a fruity cocktail girly, this is your drink. And as always we’re using the good ice with my new nugget ice maker. This drink takes a little muddling, a little mixing, and packs a punch so be prepared. I use Zach’s fancy bourbon because if you’re going to drink an awful-tasting liquor, it should at least be the best tasting kind of awful!
I kid, because who am I to judge? I love vodka, and most people would agree that it, too, tastes awful.
Back on track–the Raspberry Smash is muddled fresh raspberries and mint as a base. Then you add a touch of no-sugar sweetener and lime juice to balance the flavors. It’s a surprisingly mellow drink once you add the hints of fruit and mint!
Top the mixed drink off with sparkling water to add a bit of bubbles and garnish with a beautiful cocktail pick of fresh raspberries and a sprig of mint. If you want to experiment with flavored sparkling water, I highly recommend Waterloo Raspberry Nectarine. It’s amazing!!

Okay…but how many carbs are we talking here?
The total carbs in this drink come solely from the fresh raspberries and the bourbon. Depending on how heavy you make the drink, it can range from 2-3 grams and upward to 4-5 grams. So yes, enjoy responsibly but don’t fret over the carbs too much. Enjoy the sunshine and this cocktail, and the fact that you are saving yourself a lot of sugar without sacrificing the fun things in life.

Here’s What You’ll Need
- .5 oz bourbon
- 1 tsp freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/4 cup raspberries
- 4-5 fresh mint leaves
- 2 tsp zero-sugar simple syrup
- Decent Splash of Sparkling Water
- lots of nugget ice
I’ve been loving my new Nugget Ice Maker from Euhomy for an easy way to make cocktail-ready ice in a hurry. The machine starts making ice in about 6 minutes, and within 15 minutes you have enough to get the party started. Then once I’m finished, I simply clean it and store it away until the next weekend when we need nugget ice.
If you are a frequent ice chewer, you can let this ice maker run every day! When the ice melts, it filters back into the freezing mechanism and begins to make ice all over again. When the basket is full, it pauses ice production until levels are low. This won’t KEEP your ice frozen, but it will continue to keep making you fresh ice as long as it’s on!
